What is influencer marketing, and should your company use this style of marketing?

Marketers in today’s digital age have come to realize that they have the ability to harness the power of social media and other digital channels to market to their customers indirectly. This is possible by encouraging people to promote products online, allowing the companies to gain the upper hand against their competition. Influencer marketing involves marketing products and services to those who have a sway “influence” over the things other people buy. An influencer’s impact on the customer base depends upon the individual’s expertise on the product, popularity or even their reputation. Influencers can range from a person, group, band, or even a place that can be classified as an influencer.  Influencer marketing only is successful if a proper strategy is followed:

A successful influencer marketing campaign should measure themselves using goals on a month to month basis to track the influencer program. If the campaign may not be having the success it was expected to have it is time to change to a new influencer! The influencers who flourish and provide a successful influencer campaign need to be retained in order for them to support your brand on their digital platforms, blogs, and websites long term.
